Mirror Images
Have you ever wondered “why” you keep attracting the same situations and people into your life?
Have you ever thought, “Why me?”
Many people experience the same things over and over again in their lives, whether it is in the area of relationships, business, finances, health, et cetera. It seems as if they are simply “unlucky,” but luck has nothing to do with it. Until we change ourselves, our thoughts, and our behavior, our circumstances do not change. The definition of “insanity” is to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results.
We are like magnets. We attract to ourselves that which we are and what we think about on a regular basis. Like attracts like. It is as if we are mirrors, and our thoughts and persona are reflected back to us in the people and situations we attract into our lives.
The good news is that if you are not happy with your current situation, you can change it. By simply changing your thinking and your actions, you can change your life.
For instance, often when people think about attracting their life partner into their lives, they focus on what they want. That is a great place to start, but what is even more important is looking at your list and asking yourself if that person would be attracted to you.
I once knew a man who was unemployed, overweight, lethargic, and very negative, and when I asked him about the kind of woman he wanted to attract, he said, “I want a woman who is pretty, in great shape, successful, fun, and upbeat.” In a very kind way, I had to tell him that the woman he described would not be attracted to him as they had nothing in common. He did not like what I had to say at the time, but he knew I was right. Today, that same man is in great shape, employed with a company he likes, has a positive attitude, and is dating women like he described.
You can attract whatever you want into your life. Think about what you want, and then think about what it would take to make it happen. Ask yourself the following kinds of questions:
- What kind of person has what I want?
- What characteristics do they possess?
- How do they act?
- What do they spend their time thinking about?
- What do they do personally and professionally?
- What kinds of actions did they take that created the results they wanted?
As you start thinking in this way, you can determine where you need to make course corrections and what you need to start focusing your energy upon. As you become like the person who has the things you want, you, too, will start manifesting those things in your life.
Remember, you are a “magnet.” Be conscious of who you are and what thoughts run through your mind. You have the power to create anything you want!
