There are a lot of great businesses out there who provide services I think would be helpful to the people I coach. Every so often I get one of them to do a guest blog--here's the first one, a great little tipsheet on Driving Traffic to Your E-Mail Registration Box from my friends at EZStreet Websites. Let me know what you think, and of course feel free to click through and visit them!
Drive Traffic to Your E-mail Registration Box
The e-mail registration box on your website is one of your most inexpensive yet powerful marketing tools. When people sign up to receive your e-mail blasts, it's a signal they are interested in buying your services. But how do you go from e-mail list to increased sales?
- Present an irresistible offer through the e-mail registration box. In your visitors' eyes, "Sign Up for Our Newsletter" doesn't describe a benefit. Give the lucky registrants a contest prize, free report, giveaway, or educational webinar -- something they can't possibly pass up.
- Stamp your website address on every piece of marketing collateral you have, in print and online. This includes every form that your customers compete. Everything from your e-mail signature to your invoice should promote your irresistible offer or your website address, and sometimes both. The more people who visit your site, the more chances you have to subscribe new people to your e-mail list.
- Remind your staff to invite every person that enters your office to join your e-mail list.
- Set a schedule to refresh your website content with updated articles, local resources, or relevant links. Give existing and potential clients compelling reasons to visit your site on a regular basis.
- Ask for new business referrals in multiple places such as on your website and in your registration welcome e-mail.
- Offer an incentive for clients to provide business referrals. A contest or loyalty program can generate buzz beyond the initial referral.
